We live in an ever-increasing stressful world. Fountains are often added to the home or office as a stress reliever. The sound of water flowing through a decorative fountain has an empirically relaxation effect. By closing your eyes and seeing yourself at the ocean or by an elegant stream, you start to unwind. Traffic sounds, ambient noise, barking dogs, televisions, noisy children, all take their toll on our nerves, and sometimes even without our knowledge.
It is important to have some ‘me time.’ After a long and busy day, run away to the bathroom and take a bubble bath. At the base of the bath tub or maybe on the bathroom counter you can place a nice tabletop or indoor fountain. Light some candles and turn off the lights. Take in this intimate, calming atmosphere and drench your body in the tub. Just concentrate on the flowing water from the fountain and let your mind to be purged of all of the day’s problems.
If you have a business with an anteroom, place a few plants and a fountain in it and watch your patients relax to the soothing environment you have inexpensively created. You might even play some soft earth music with the sounds of nature. This may not only help to soothe your customers’ nerves, but your employees will also appreciate the calming environment you have created. In addition, fountains act as a natural humidifier for those drier areas.
